Tidal Power- is a form of  hydro power that converts the energy of tides into electricity or other useful forms. Tidal is a Renewable resource.

Tidal Power is a natural resource. When a dam is built across a river estuary the tide goes in and out , then water flows through tunnels in the dam.

It's naturally harnessed by  the ocean tides. The largest tidal power in the world is in Europe. Rance estuary in Northern France near St. Malo. There are some in the United States for example in New York.

Tidal Energy is captured by building stations so the energy can be captured. They build tidal fences, barriers, and dams.

The ebb and flow of the tides can be used to turn a turbine , or it can be used to push air through a pipe, which then turns a turbine. Large lock gates , like used in canals allows ships to pass. They have extra turbine generators just in case it stops working.

This a digram of the turbine generator how it works and how the energy is captured.

Tidal power can be used as electricity for homes, heating , motor fuels ,etc
